Free Comic Book Day 2009
No Selina Kyle, but the US debut of Catfan as the “Thrillkiller” Batman!
Catfan made his first appearance in the United States as Batman at the Free Comic Book Day, held 2 May 2009 at The Comic Depot, NYS Route 9N, in Greenfield Center, NY.
This event marked the first time that the Webjefe himself, the Catfan (me), made an appearance as the Caped Crusader in a public setting in the United States! Prior to this date, all appearances as Batman had been done for filming Batman 1969 in Canada. Two weeks later, I would do so in Detroit.
But on this day, I promoted Free Comic Book Day, and I held auditions for Carrie's World, the Batman fan series that centers around the female Robin Frank Miller created. I also took at gander at Earthworld Comics in Albany, and saw some Green Lantern characters!
