Spending time with Yvonne Craig …

We first met Yvonne Craig at the Motor City Comic Con in May 2006. This meeting, held at the Holiday Inn located in Liverpool, was a sheer joy! After circling around the ballroom once, I went to see where the line began for Yvonne.
And I would not have to wait.
Yvonne’s sister, Meridel Carson, motioned me over, and I sat with Yvonne for roughly 30 minutes or so, maybe more. We had quite the time. Yvonne received a “Binghamton Care Package” that included the following:
- A copy of Batman: Thrillkiller
- DVDs of The FBI and Catwoman: The Diamond Exchange
- Photos from the 2006 Twilight Zone Convention.
When Yvonne saw the group shot of me with Twilight Zone performers who had guested on The FBI, she immediately spotted actress Lois Nettleton. I learned that Yvonne is a BIG fan of Ms. Nettleton. That prompted me to go to the car and to give her a second FBI DVD that contained Lois Nettleton’s 1970 guest role.
I also broke the sad news about Phyllis Kirk’s passing. She recounted an event in which she was told not “to be like Phyllis Kirk”—meaning that she should not look gaunt. I think this was pertaining to a camera shoot. On a nicer note, we also talked about H.M. Wynant, Peter Mark Richman and about my planned fan film, Batman 1969.
